Owner - Vicki Kreis

I’m Vicki, Co-Owner of Brite Starz Dance Studio. I’m looking forward to having your son/daughter perform at our studio. Here’s a little background about me.

I’m a born performer. I’ve been performing in one-way or another as long as I can remember. Whether it has been singing, dancing or acting-My home is on the stage. I’m currently a member of the Fort Walton Beach Community Chorus and The Highsteppers and a former member of the notorious Texas Twisters.

Dancing and performing run in my family; So much that my daughter and granddaughters are performers. It is a passion and tradition that I have passed down to my family and now to yours. I opened Brite Starz Dance Studio to create a dance envionment that is fun, relaxed, and affordable. After being on the “paying end” for way too many years I’m striving to offer quality instruction at reasonable prices.

I have an open door policy. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to get in touch with me. Communication is key to helping your dancer ‘shine’ at Brite Starz Dance Studios.

Owner - Amy Montz

I’m Amy, Co-Owner of Brite Starz Dance Studio. I’m looking forward to an exciting 1st year with your children!

Although I never took dance classes as a child, I have been dancing much of my adult life. At 19 years old I began learning how to couples dance in Country Western & Swing. During my early 20s I met my future husband, Gene, and we began competing in the UCWDC circuit across the Country, placing in the top 3 in our divisions several times. We also competed in the World Championships of Country Dance in 1997 & 1998. During this time my husband and I also taught couples and line dancing at several Country venues in Louisiana & Florida. We also continued our training through private lessons and coaching from some of the Country’s top dance instructors, including, Robert Royston, Rowdy Dufrene, Damon & Lisa D’Amico, Kevin Johnson, the late Britt Halphen, Sue Boyd, Jeff & Mary Hill, and many more.

Although we don’t offer this type of dancing at our studio right now we hope one day we can expand and offer adult classes like these as well as many others.

We decided to take a break from professional dancing and focus on raising our family, but we continue to dance for FUN! In 2002 and 2004 we were blessed with our our beautiful daughters. Madison Rebekah Montz and Isabella “Bella” Grace Montz danced into our lives and things have never been the same! Madison (age 10) is a beautiful, talented, natural dancer. Things seem to come so easy for Madison on the dance floor, she was meant to be a dancer! Bella (age 7) has a love for dance and performing on the stage! She is also very talented and has come so far this past year. We couldn’t be more PROUD of our girls.

At Brite Starz we hope to instill the LOVE of DANCE in your children as well! One of my favorite quotes is “Dance Like No One Is Watching”!

Teacher - Mary Rodgers

Ms. Mary is a native of the Fort Walton Beach area. She began training in jazz, tap, lyrical and ballet at an early age. She grew up competing and performing and fell in love with the art of dance. She was honored to dance at the opening of the Millennium Games in London England as well as a Super Bowl pregame and halftime in 2001. Though she loves performing, Mary always knew she wanted to teach and pass on her love for dance! With this in mind, she attended University of Nevada Las Vegas where she continued to train, learn and grow as a dancer. She graduated with honors from UNLV and received her Bachelor of Arts in dance. She then went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Arts Administration with a dance focus. Upon graduation from her master’s program in 2008, Mary moved back to Destin/Fort Walton area, where she taught dance at Hurlburt Field Youth Center, choreographed for local stage theater, and coached a local dance team, The Pryor Starlites,. She received the opportunity to perform with the NWFSC Dance Department’s “Dance Facets” and Northwest Florida Symphony Chorales “Madam Butterfly”. She has choreographed the stage performances of “1776”, “25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” and “The Sound of Music,” for a local community theatre, Stage Crafters. Her experience with Stage Crafters opened a door to choreograph the stage performances of “Bye Bye Birdie” and “Guys and Dolls” for Rocky Bayou Christian. Ms. Mary is currently teaching at Brite Starz Dance Studio in Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Glee, and Pre Ballet and is also honored to work in her churches preschool program (First United Methodist) as the music teacher for one to five year olds! Ms. Mary believes that dance and music can be a vital component to any child and their overall development. She loves that dance allows a place for everyone to express through movement what they may not be able to through spoken word. She also believes that the dance floor is the perfect place to have the time of your life so she includes laughter in every class! She trusts the idea that if you are having fun the work it takes to become a well-trained dancer will seem easy and natural-though we secretly know it’s anything but!! She would love to soon pursue her goals to get recertified in Pilates as she has a passion for fitness as well. Ms. Mary feels blessed to have the opportunity to teach and guide young dancers to LOVE dance as much as she does and become the BRITE starz of tomorrow.

Teacher - Lyndsi Stevens

Hi there! I’m Lyndsi and I have been dancing since I was three. Most of my training is in ballet, jazz and modern, but I also have studied tap and musical theater.

Over the years, I've been blessed to have many dance experiences -- from classical ballet to musicals to collegiate-level competitions (I even traveled to Italy to perform through the American All-Star) -- and to teach and choreograph for dance studios and middle schools on the Emerald Coast.

As a member of Northwest Florida Ballet's pre-professional ballet company, I performed in many classical ballets including "The Nutcracker,” “Cinderella,” “Coppelia,” “Dracula,” “Giselle” and “La Bayadère,” as well as unique modern pieces choreographed by NFB staff and guest artists.

I went on to dance at Northwest Florida State College, including performing in and choreographing for their annual dance concert. My dance education continued at Florida State University where, in addition to taking classes, I worked in the dance department's main office and was a member of Seminole Dance Force, the university's award-winning competition team.

I also studied ballet, jazz, modern and tap at Arlington Center for Dance in Arlington, Va.; and Ballet Teatro Internacional in Washington, D.C.

Some of my favorite performance experiences have been in musical theater. It all started when I was a dream scene dancer in Stagecrafters’ production of “Oklahoma!” Since then, I have performed in many musicals at NWFSC, including “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Anything Goes,” “Camelot,” “Will Rogers’ Follies,” and “The Wiz.”

It's an honor to share my love of dance with my students, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of Brite Starz!

Mr Nate

Teacher - Nate Beechum

I'm especially excited to be teaching your children. I have had the pleasure of being trained in Gymnastics for many years of my life to transition to dance in at the age of 16. I have even been privilege to be captain of my high school step team my senior year of high school. In college I trained in ballet, jazz, modern, and a bit of tap too. I hope to continue my learning as I teach younger children what I have learned, not only in dance but in life.

Mentor - Kathy Warner

Kathy Warner was born in Dayton, Ohio and studied dance there since she was 3 years old. She has studied all forms of dance: Ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling, baton twirling and hawaiian. She started teaching and choreographing at the age of 13. Kathy opened her own studio in Dayton after high school and hasn’t stopped teaching yet. Kathy and her family moved to the Ft. Walton Beach area in 1992. She is currently the Artistic Director for the local adult tap dance group, The Highsteppers.

“I am proud to be a part of the Brite Starz Dance Studio and I look forward to helping Vicki and Amy and the instructors in any way I can.”
